The basis of use
Please read these before using this website or making a donation. They set out the basis on which we make this site available to you.
This website, coodutrust.org, is owned and operated by COODU TRUST, a public charitable trust constituted by Trust Deed dated 20 June 2000, registered as Document No. 150/B IV of 2000 with the Sub-Registrar, Dindigul, as amended by supplementary deeds dated 24 February 2006 (Doc. No. 92/BK4/2006) and 15 March 2007 (Doc. No. 156/BK4 of 2007). Our PAN is AAATC5133E.
COODU TRUST works on rural development across Tamil Nadu — watershed development, sustainable agriculture, women’s empowerment and self-help groups, education and skilling, health and sanitation, solid waste management, and consultancy and HR services.
This site exists to tell you about our work and to let you support it with a donation. It is an information and donation site. There is no account to create, no login, no subscription, and nothing on this site is for sale.
By using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies, and the “Last updated” date tells you when it last changed.
A donation made through this site is a voluntary charitable contribution to COODU TRUST.
It is not a payment for goods or services. You receive no product, no service, no membership, no entitlement and no benefit in return. Nothing is being bought or sold, and consumer protections that apply to the purchase of goods or services do not apply to a gift.
Where you choose a cause on the donation form, we treat that as an indication of your preference and apply your gift to that area of our work so far as it is practicable to do so. Trustees remain responsible under the trust deed for applying funds to the Trust’s charitable objects, and may reallocate a contribution where a programme is fully funded, has closed, or where circumstances in the field require it.

Please check your details before you submit. If your email or phone number is wrong, we cannot send your acknowledgement. If your PAN or address is wrong, we may not be able to issue a valid receipt. Tell us promptly at director@coodutrust.org if something needs correcting.
Donations through this website are accepted in Indian rupees (INR) only.
Contributions from foreign sources are governed in India by the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, which requires them to be received into a specifically designated bank account and not through a general payment facility of this kind. This donation form is therefore intended for donations from Indian sources.
If you are a foreign national, a foreign entity, or otherwise a “foreign source” under the FCRA, please do not use this form. Write to director@coodutrust.org first and we will tell you the correct route.
We may refuse, cancel or return any donation at our discretion, without being obliged to give a reason. We would do this, for example, where a payment looks fraudulent or unauthorised, where accepting it could put the Trust in breach of a law that applies to it, where the donor cannot be identified for records we are required to keep, or where accepting it would conflict with the Trust’s objects or values.
If we return a donation, we will return it to the original payment method.
Payments on this site are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. When you donate, you are taken to Razorpay’s own checkout.
Donations through this site are one-time. There is no recurring billing, standing instruction or auto-debit, so there is nothing for you to cancel later.
COODU TRUST holds approval under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961, granted by order C.No.102/110/CIT-II/2006-07 dated 28 May 2009.
Approvals under Section 80G were brought under a revised registration framework in 2020, under which approvals run for limited periods and must be renewed. Whether you can actually claim a deduction for a particular donation depends on the Trust’s approval being valid on the date of your donation, on the donation being reported correctly, and on your own tax position in the relevant year.
We can issue a receipt on request, but we do not and cannot guarantee any tax outcome for you. If you intend to claim a deduction, please confirm the current status of our approval with us before you give, and take your own tax advice. Nothing on this website is tax advice.
A deduction under Section 80G reduces your taxable income by a proportion of the amount given, subject to the limits in the Act. It is not an exemption of the full amount, and the proportion is not the same for every donor or every donation.
Our donation page shows equivalences of the “₹500 ≈ 25 saplings” kind, and similar illustrations appear elsewhere on the site.
These are illustrative modelled estimates — not guarantees, not commitments, and not audited figures. They rest on our own average cost assumptions, which change with prices, seasons, locations, partners and project design. Giving ₹500 does not create a contractual obligation on us to plant 25 saplings, or to spend your particular rupees on that particular activity.
They are there to give you a feel for what money does in our work. They are not a specification of what your donation buys, and no warranty of any kind is given in respect of them.
We try to keep information on this site accurate and current, including programme descriptions, reports, statistics and photographs. But content is provided for general information, may become out of date, and may contain errors or omissions. We may change, correct, add to or remove any content at any time without notice.
All content on this site — text, photographs, video, graphics, reports, documents, page design, and the COODU TRUST name and logo — is owned by COODU TRUST or used by us with permission, and is protected by Indian copyright and trade mark law.
The photographs deserve a specific mention: many show real participants in our programmes, often in sensitive contexts, and they were taken with their cooperation and trust. They are not stock imagery and must not be treated as such.
You may read, print and share pages of this site for your own non-commercial information, and you may quote short extracts if you credit COODU TRUST and link back to the source page. Anything beyond that — reproducing our photographs, republishing our reports, using our content commercially, or using our name or logo — needs our written permission first. These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of them, your use of this site, or a donation made through it, are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Dindigul, Tamil Nadu shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a term on some occasion, that does not mean we give up the right to enforce it later.
